ISKF, Gilbert Dojo shows at 11:30 am on Saturday and 1:00 pm on Sunday were a success.
The Gilbert Dojo Shinkendo demonstrations of suburi, tanrengata, tachiuchi, and tameshigiri were a success. Thanks to all dojo members for their hardwork and dedication to make the show a success. The large audience was enthusiasitic, the show went well, we stayed within our time limits (remarkable!), and most importantly, it was conducted safely. To all Gilbert Dojo members, congratulations for a job well done. Let us all look forward to next year's demo that will be even better. Suggestions for improvements to a great show are already being considered. The new hardwood pegs remain intact were not cut down by any members in their enthusiasm to get that last cut in and Sensei Jimmy did not test the quality of the blade he was using by cutting through any of them. Sensei was very interested in testing the sword of a certain dojo member by cutting through the test stand itself but changed his mind at the last second! The look of surprise on dojo members was one to remember. The Saturday show followed the Taiko Drummers and the Sunday show followed the Kimono Show. The extra time allowed for us on the Sunday show permitted an additional Bo Demonstration by one of the Senseis. A great show all in all.
